Associate/ Full Professor in Computer Information/Cyber Security Systems

Position Summary
The Associate / Full Professor in Computer Information (CIS) /Cyber Security Systems (CSEC) is a tenure-track position with a 4/4 teaching load. The CIS program at UIW offers a Bachelor of Science in CIS with three specializations and offers a Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security Systems (CSEC).

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.


Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include teaching undergraduate courses related to Cyber Security Systems or Computer Information Systems in addition to working with other faculty and staff to advance the program. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.

Required Education
-Doctorate in Cyber Security, Computer Information Systems (specializing in Cyber Security), Computer Science or closely related discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in Cyber Security

Required Work Experience
-Six (6) or more years of teaching experience at the college/university level in related area;
-Experience working collaboratively on a team

Preferred Qualifications
-Priority will be given to applicants with demonstrated teaching effectiveness, university leadership, a record of scholarship, and mainstream publications; 5+ years of recent experience in the industry;
-Certifications in computer systems, cybersecurity, forensics, and/or networking;
-Experience with open-source computer security, penetration testing, forensics tools, programming, and Linux;
-Recent industry experience and strong programming experience
